In an effort to more precisely define PC and NPC/Villain abilities I have done a number of things with Principia.

1. I have added a number of skills to Woodlore, and Innate (AKA: Natural Abilities).

2. I have added and populated a whole list of NPC/Villain abilities. Many of these abilities incorporate concepts from The Arcanix or from more obscure parts of DoE.

3. Some of the skills and abilities are present solely for the purpose of quantifying previously understood, but ambiguous parts of the system primarily for purposes of showing racial construction and point balance. These items are also used for constructing NPC/Villains (including monsters and animals); further, it is my hope that one day the site will support Monster creation and subsequently, a bestiary.

4. There are now 12 Skill fields on the racial templates design page rather than 10.

5. Certain Races which had for a very long time been out of balance are now (or very shortly will be) in balance. Once complete, you will be able to see which racial templates have been renovated and which have not based upon the existence of one or more Inherited Skills called “Attributes X”, where “X” is equal to the plus (+) or minus (-) operator and the number of Attribute points, positive or negative, by which the Racial Template is out of balance. Of course these points will be balanced out through the purchase of other skills.

I welcome questions and suggestions. Functionally, the DoE system remains unchanged.

Okay, what's with the Dice Class attributes: standard armored? Seems like every template has these.

Also noticed I can't make a character - either on the old or new templates - get this error

Dice Class: determines the method of dice roll used to calculate attributes. Standard is 4d6 - Low.

For more detail on other Dice Classes, see Dice Class: X under Innate and Non-Player Innate skills lists.

ALL PLAYABLE CLASSES use Dice Class: Standard which is why this skill/quality has been added to all of the Racial Templates.

Armored in essences describes a creatures ability to use armor and to come into game play equipped with armor.

I've included Armored in all playable racial templates but MAY remove it since they are humanoid and need not purchase the skill: the ability to employ armor is natural to humanoids, and armor is assumed to be available to character's at a DEF equal to the character's level.
